In Salerno’s countryside, between the Sele and Calore valleys, there is the Oasi di Persano. The protected environment of this freshwater area has its roots in its marshy soil. At the beginning of XX century the whole Piana del Sele (Sele Valley) was reclaimed. Then a dam was built and the artificial lake that now is the Oasi’s beating heart was created.Territories
